Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of interesting creations from small studios. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a character that is truly a dung attempting to travel to a toilet. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."
Player controls is straightforward: just use a single jump button. Throughout numerous challenges, battle tough enemies and unlock a store to acquire skins for your poop character.
Plan your movements with caution, since one mistake forces restarting the level. Leap using floating orbs to propel the poop higher, navigate crumbling ledges, and touch buttons to reveal hidden paths. Collect coins and use them on tougher stages in which the action ramps up.
Visually, the game features eye-catching level designs and a killer background music. Its minimalist visual style of shifting basic polygons could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.
Even though hard to think of other games where you are a piece of feces, gaming frequently featured fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players make explosives from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as plant food. Unsurprisingly, this theme appears extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already garnered impressive accolades, like winning at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is ready currently on Steam, with the full game set to debut on Steam this November.
